Weekend Getaway
Lets just start by saying I think my husband is trying to kill me with all the crazy hikes he is taking me on! I consider myself an outdoors person, but not on an extreme scale by any means! We just got home from an amazing weekend in St. George. We did so many fun things the first of which was hiking angels landing. This hike was beautiful and incredible, but a little scary at times because the last half mile is sheer cliffs straight down and you are climbing up a mountain holding on to chains. It was totally worth getting over any fear of heights I might have had once I reached the top. To look out over Zions that high up was absolutly incredible. The rest of the trip was spent playing outside, lots of swimming, lots of BBQ's, and spending wonderful time as a family. We all came home with good memories and sun tan lines!

Melt My Heart
Yesterday I was rocking my little guy trying to get him to sleep for a nap, when he looked up at my face, touched my cheek and said "Mama...Pretty Mama". I don't think I will ever forget that moment. I love my baby.

The Subway

Lunch time, not a bad spot!

Can you guess why it's called the subway?

Last weekend we took a trip to St. George with some of our friends. The main focus of our trip was to hike the Subway... a nine mile hike down a beautiful canyon. The trip was a blast, but the hike I have mixed feelings about. It was so fun at times, and so scary at others. We were hiking through FREEZING cold water almost all day, and at times had to get all the way in!!! Thank goodness for wetsuites! Besides the fact that the runoff water was so high the park workers highly recommended we don't go, and besides the fact my dad almost got stuck in a crack there would be no getting out of (thank goodness he lost 50 pounds!), and besides the fact it started raining in a canyon well known for flash floods, and besides the water was so cold my feet were aching! and besides the fact that it was the hardest hike I have ever done! It really was so much fun, and I am glad I was able to experience it. But I will never go again :)Monday, May 10, 2010
mothers day
I have never appreciated mothers day as much as I should have until I became one. It is such a neat day, not because my husband spoils me (I love that too), but because it made me realize how blessed I am to be able to be a mom. And not just be any mom, but a mom to my little Carter. I can't even describe how lucky I am to have the little family that I do. I love waking up each morning because I love what I get to do, and who I get to do it with. It is the greatest thing I can possibly imagine to be so needed, loved and depended upon by my little boy. I have never been as happy as being a wife and a mom has made me, and I am so very grateful for that blessing in my life. Thanks Reg and Carter for making my mothers day so very special!

newest hobby

I have discovered a fun and exciting new hobby! Zumba, or as Regan calls it, zoobo, zumababo, etc. I can't get enough of it! I look ridiculous doing it, but it is a blast. I spent so many years learning in dance how to hold it all together, and now I'm learning how to let all go and shake it! You have to try it, but I must warn you, it is addicting!

Burr.
I'm looking out my window and it's snowing, but just a couple of days ago we were running around in shorts and flip flops getting a sunburn! If you know me, you know I love the snow, but I was very fond of the warm sunny weather we had last week. We had so much fun playing outside and bustin out all of Cart dawg's new summer clothes! I guess this meens it's time for a trip to St. George:) My little boy is growing like a weed, eats like a cow, but still super skinny! He is starting to make sentences like "Dada I eat Cereal" or " I go Swimming". I am so in love with that little guy. He is my bestest friend in this world, next to his daddy! He moved up to level four in his Gymboree class, and is making all kinds of new friends, he really loves gymbo! It has been so great spending time with my old friends up here, oh how I missed them! We have been doing so much fun stuff like going to the Jazz games (gotta love the playoffs!), dinners, game nights, park with our little boys, and just hangin out. Its so fun to live by friends and family! here are some pics of our sunny days...

we spent almost all of monday, sun up to sun down, at thanksgiving point playing in the gardens. I love the tulip festival! We must have walked ten miles that day!
