California

So I am behind on posting! Thats what happens when you are on the go! Last weekend we took a family vacation to California with Reg's fam. It was a short trip, but we did alot in the time we were there. As soon as we got checked into our hotel we were in our swim suits and off to the beach! I was so excited to show Carter the ocean, and he LOVED it. He didn't mind the cold air and water, the sticky sand getting trapped in his rolly legs, or an occational splash of salty water in the face, he just kicked and giggled the entire time. That boy loves to experience new things, especially if they are outside. We had a blast body boarding! Reg and Duke were even lucky enough to step on a sting ray (or at least thats what they thought it was, don't worry, they didn't get hurt :) The next day we spent at Knotts berry farm attempting to ride roller coasters that always broke down before we got on them, and ate a delicous chicken dinner. After another day at the ocean we were on our way home. It is fun to spend time with Reg's brother Brian who is about to leave on his mission in a couple of weeks, and also his brother Mike who came to stay with us from denver for a few days before the trip, and of course the rest of the fam too! We had a really good time, Carter was the perfect little baby of course ( We really can take that kid anywhere!), And I totally miss the beautiful California weather! This is us, we got drenched on this ride! (glad I spent time getting ready!) Carter was so scared on this trian ride, he just tucked his head into Reg and held on tight to his neck. It was adorable! A big Crew!

Visiting Home

Last week we were able to take a trip up to Salt Lake to visit my friends and family. It felt so good to escape this hot weather, and enjoy some well needed time outside in the cool air. We did so many things it felt like I was there for much longer! One of my very FAVORITE things to do this time of year is to go to the Farmers Market at Pioneer Park! It is so fun to listen to the bands, Carter loved all the dogs, sample all the fruit, and scope out the crafts and jewelry. I am a sucker for flee Markets! We had a blast spending the morning walking through the market and eating the most amazing Belgian waffles from Broges! Saturday was a day out to lunch with the girls to Gardner Village, The guys had fun golfing, and then to my five year reunion that night. (shame on all my friends who didn't come... you know exactly who you are!!) The best part about visiting home is spending time with my family of course, but also playing outside! Carter loves the yard! He loved to play in the pool and sit by the fire at night. We spent every second we could outside. The day I left, we went to Thanksgiving point with my Mom, Sis, and kids. It was such a beautiful day spent just roaming around in the gardens. I swear you feel like your in a fairytale there, we had such a fun time together! It was great to see my family, they are so awesome. It is fun to see thier relationships grow with Carter, He really loves his cousins, Nana and Baba!

Lake Powell

Last week we jumped in the car and drove to meet my family and the Watkins clan at Lake Powell for our annual trip together. It was a blast! We could not have asked for better weather, no wind, not TOO hot, cool nights (minus one!), and warm water. I have to admit I was a little nervous to take my baby on such an unpredictable trip, but I knew he would suprise me and do just great like he usually does. He was such a good boy, and I loved to watch him experience for the first time a place that I grew up loving! He loved to go on boat rides, and just like his mom, they put him right to sleep. He was really excited to play in the mud, and LOVED to skinny dip! Besides our encounter with crazy bats flying around trapped in the houseboat one night it was a perfect trip! I can't wait to take him back for trip #2 in September. I had so much fun with Regi, he is such a little kid with me, and always up for anything fun! I love him! My mom and Cindy ( my mom #2) cook so many goodies and take such good care of everybody. And the Dad's are constantly working hard, and fixing all the things we break. I even got to spend time with my best friend Steph who I haven't seen in so long! Being that last year I was prego when we went to lake powell, I felt the need to make for all the things I couldn't do. We had so much fun, skiing, cliff jumping, jet skiing, and so on! Oh how I love Lake Powell!!! here are lots of pics of the fun we had....
