What a Christmas!

I have always hated this time of year when all the wonderful Christmas celebrations end and it's back to real life. We had a wonderful Christmas and New year's spent with family and friends, I am so sad it's all over. This year was probably the funnest Christmas I have ever had because of what a joy it was to see Carter experience it. He had so much fun putting up the tree on Christmas eve and was so excited about the cookies Santa was going to eat! Christmas morning he woke up early and enjoyed opening up his presents. We didn't go overboard with him this year, just a few great gifts (mostly geo trax trains, and a bounce house) but he wanted to play with everything at the moment he opened it, so it took a while to get through them all. We then vacationed in sunny St. George for a week and soaked up some well needed Vit D!!! Carter loved spending so much time with his cousins, I know he really misses them while we are away. We had alot of fun swimming everyday, going on a fun four wheeler ride to the "diamond mine", shopping, movies, and hanging out.

For new years we drove up to Brian Head and spent New years eve with our dear friends. It was FREEZING outside so we mostly spent our time inside, although we did attempt sledding for about fifteen minutes. We had the perfect setup with Kade and Kolby pulling us up the hill on the snowmobiles, but it was just too cold to stick to it!

what a wonderful holiday and holiday season!

The season

This little town is what it is...little, so our options of exciting activities to do around here have been limited. We have had a really fun Christmas season so far, and I hope everybody else has. We have gone to all the community celebrations like living windows downtown and the christmas parade, both of which were so fun! We've been lucky to make friends fast here because everybody is so outgoing and sweet. Last weekend we took a little trip up to Branson. It is one of our favorite litte towns, and to see it at Christmas was amazing! The first night we arrived Reg took us to the Dolly Partons Dixie Stampead! I never would have expected it to be as fun as it was. We Loved It, especially Carter! The next day we went to Silver Dollar City which is this really neat amusement park. We went last time we were in Branson a couple of years ago and have been so excited to go back someday. At Christmas time it is the most lit up park in the world! I really wish I could say that we had an incredible time there, but what I will remember the most about that day is how freezing cold I was all day! The temps here have been bitter cold, like way below zero!
Today we are traveling to Denver to be with Regan's brother Mike and his family, and then its home! we can't wait to spend Christmas with our families! Although we have had a good time here, there's nothing like being HOME for Christmas. I'm so Excited!! Merry Christmas!

all bundled up freezing our butts off! notice we are a family of logger hats, that would be my husband's doing :)

Another Christmas!

I am now sitting in my little apartment in Missouri, while my little boy is taking a nap, realizing how much I have missed updating my blog. I feel bad I haven't kept up with it lately because so many good things have happened, and I do this so that Our family can look back on some fun memories. So hopefully I can do better now that life has slowed down a bit (at least today!)

We are loving this Christmas season! Truthfully I have been celebrating it since Halloween was over. I am the kind of nerd that turns my radio to the christmas station the day they start playing it. Carter is enjoying everything Christmas so far, especially the food! Peppermint ice cream, cany canes, popcorn tins, you name it he loves it! I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks in this little town, there seem to be alot of holiday activities to do. This will be the third year in a row that I have spent this time of year in a new place, and truthfully it is really fun. Every city has there own traditions and fun activities that they do. In Florida, there was the boat light parade on the ocean, and Christmas sand Castles on the beach (just a couple of my favorites). In Vegas there was a darling Christmas village set up With all kinds of fun rides. I can't wait to see what this year in Missouri brings! Life is really, really wonderful!!! My little boy is so not a baby any more, he is definately in kid mode. I can't describe how cute he is! I am always laughing with him! He has the most darling personality, the best way to describe our life with him is that its just FUN! Here are a few pics of our holidays so far....

our poor attempt at a gingerbread house, Carter was eating it faster than we could decorate it.

It snowed over two feet before we left, so we spent the day outside sledding and playing in it! Poor Carter! the snow was almost as tall as he was so he couldn't really walk in it! He LOVES sledding just as much as I do!!!

Happiest Halloween

Halloween was such a blast this year. We really enjoyed all of the beautiful leaves and cool weather. We had some hilarious and fun halloween parties with family and friends (which I completely neglected to take pics of), but the highlight of the holiday was taking Carter trick or treating. Despite the cold rain and wind outside We got all bundled up and hit the town. He was so dang cute in his Dinosaur costume, and loved to growl like one! We laughed at almost every door as he would yell "Trick or Treat" and when the door opened he would get so shy. Every candy he grabbed he would say "how bout this one?". Reg and I LOVED taking him, It was a really fun night! Now we have a huge bowl of sweets we'll have to find something to do with :)

Lion King

My sweet grandma took me to go see the Lion King yesturday. It was one of the most amazing shows I've seen. The costumes, dancing and singing were just awesome! What an amazing birthday present, She has always tended to spoil me:) We had fun spending the day together, she makes me laugh with her cute and spunky personality! The show was incredible, and I am so glad I was able to go see it while it was in town. It definatley competes with Wicked and Phantom for the top spot of favorite Broadway shows in my book. If you ever get the chance to see it, DO!

hello fall

I have been a complete slacker at keeping up with my blog this last month. We have finished our summer off with alot of fun outings and trips. I am so excited for fall to be here. Summer was a blast, and we had an insane amount of fun, but I am so ready for the crisp cool air, colorful trees, birthdays, and holidays! Is it just me or did summer go by so fast? I feel like my little boy went from 14 months to 20 months in a few days!!! He sure is getting big quickly. He talks so amazingly well, and is starting to say the funniest things. His new thing is to apologize after he does something wrong before I even get a chance to get after him. "No mama....sorry mama" is what I hear about thirty times a day. He is such a fun little buddy to have around, I think I'll keep him :) Well, here is a jumble of pics of what our August consisted of. Hopefully I can keep up with this blog a little better now that life is slowing down a bit. So here it comes...picture overload!
